Brief Chosen







1. Why have I chosen this brief?
Because it has a wide target audience allowing to pick specific areas within this sector. I enjoy illustration and typography therefore I think this brief will give me a foundation to apply these skills. I also like working to small scales where I can apply more attention to detail.

2. What do you want to get out of it?
Confiedence in working on a brief that is current and competing against other designers. It want to improve on my practice in this area. I want to gain experience in somewhat of an Industry driven brief. And finally, to gain recognition for my practice. 

3. What do you want to do/make?
I want to create something that represents my style. I would like to use a mixture of type and illustration. I want to approach this brief by making something hand crafted. Maybe incorporate screen-printing. 

4. Why do you want to enter it?
Because I think I will enjoy the brief and it will be engaging. The brief allows elements of design that I am passionate about therefore I don't think I will get bored with it. It also offers experimentation in the message being delivered. I want to enter this competition because I want to win. 

5. What is the problem?
To sell more variations of greeting cards. 

6. What is it asking you to do about it?
To design at least four card designs either copy-led or design led to be sold and to stand out in a card shop. It wants you to create something exciting whether it is through finishing or an interesting approach. 

7. What is it trying to achieve?
A wider range and a more versatile set of card designs. It is trying to get more people to buy exciting greeting cards, giving them more options. Whether it is more occasions, comical cards ore just aesthetically pleasing.

13. What do you have to do?
Create greeting cards that are going to appeal and sell to a target audience of 16-34 yr olds. 

14. What do you need to do?
Design at least 4 greeting cards from a selection of sizes, design the inside and arrange the name and logo on the back. Need to create something that will stand out.

15. What can you do?
Can choose from different sizes and formats. Can experiment with colourways, paper stocks and finishes. Can make it type based or image based. Can include letter press or screen-printing.

16. What could you do?
Could make a set/series of cards following the same process. Could all be done digitally or hand crafted.
