What is a line?//Problem Analysis- Rationale

LINE: Waves
LIKE: Surfing
PROCESS: Frame and Format

What is going to be produce?
Going to create a small handguide to offer surfing advice around Britain. Their will be three of these guides each focussing on different areas of Britain. For example, Wales, Cornwall and Devon. However, these booklets will not be filled with in-depth detail. They are simply little snippets of information that people will be bought aware of then if they want to find out more then they can. The books will hopefully start as a starting point.

Who is target audience?
The booklets will be aimed at people who want to go surfing in Britain for the first time or even for experienced surfers who are unaware of surfing spots around the country. However, it is also going to be aimed at people in large cities, in particularly, London as hopefully it will encourage people who are from here venture out to the coasts of the UK.

What is going to be solved?
The problem is how to encourage people to take up surfing around Britain and to open people up to less well-known surfing destinations. By creating this publication, hopefully people will want to give it a go.

How will it be promoted?
As the booklet is only going to be small and not a lot of information, it could be an edition to a British surfing magazine. But to get the booklet out to non-surfers it could also be an extra for other sporting magazines or even lifestyle magazines. As it is important that it gets promoted to male and female it needs to be in a place where both genders would pick it up. It has potential to be most successful as an edition to a sporting magazine as a lot of people who already have a sporting interest are more likely to give other sports a try.

How will it be produced?
The booklets will be created by mainly using photographic images of locations to surf. The publication probably won't be any bigger than A5 size and consist of more than fifteen pages.
