Responsive//Greeting cards//Designs

As it is approaching Christmas time, it seemed relavent to begin designing some Christmas cards in response to the YCN brief. Instead of them looking very traditional, the approach is to make the design more contemporary and more of a winter, seasonal card than all about the stereotypical festive imagery.

It started off with the idea of using imagery that wasn't necessarily christmas but had an association with this time of year. The concept of creating lots of different types of hats on illustrator came from this. Hats was the original thought as they almost reflect a type of person and they can be quite quirky. It is not yet apparent how these are going to be portrayed on a card yet.

After creating a couple of hats on illustrator, it was decided to give them more of an authentic look to them. The idea was to make the vectors looked worn away or like they had been screen printed. It was decided to do this digitally.
